Mango Frozen Margarita Mocktail
Jump to Recipe
Since switching to mostly mocktails, margaritas have been a steady go-to drink for me. Margarita recipes require just a few ingredients like citrus juice, simple syrup or agave, tequila (or a non-alcoholic alternative like Ish), and sometimes triple sec (my favorite NA version is from Master of Mixes). Plus they are easy to make and, in my opinion, taste a lot like the alcoholic versions. If you have a few friends coming over these mango margarita mocktails are great for a party! Blend them up in batches to keep folks hydrated all night long! As an Amazon affiliate I earn from affiliate marketing.
How do you make a non-alcoholic margarita?
How do you make a margarita into a mocktail? The simplest answer is to swap out traditional tequila with a non-alcoholic tequila alternative. There’s a few available on the market, but my current favorite zero proof tequila is Ish non-alcoholic Mexican Agave Spirit. It has that perfect balance of smokey flavor from the oakwood and signature tequila taste from the agave. So, I simply use it in place of tequila in any margarita recipe I want.
How to make a frozen margarita?
Making a frozen mango margarita requires just a few ingredients and a high powered blender. Unlike your favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, most of us don’t have a frozen margarita machine at home. But, a lot of us do have a high powered blender. And while the texture isn’t quite as smooth, with a little practice you can get a really close texture in your homemade frozen margaritas.
Variations
Mango is my favorite fruit to use in frozen margaritas because they have a naturally creamy texture that really shines in a frozen drink. I don’t recommend subbing in other fruit in a 1:1 ratio, but subbing out half of the mango for a few other fruits works really well. Here are my favorites.
Substitute half of the frozen mango for half a cup of these other frozen fruits:
Strawberries
Peaches
Cherries
Quick Tips for making Frozen Mango Margaritas
Blend slowly and add a little water if you’re having trouble getting your blender to blend smoothly. Don’t overblend!
Frozen mango margaritas go really well with Tex-Mex cuisine. I especially love it with corn salsa.
If you don’t have a lime for your margarita, you can substitute oranges or lemons for a similar flavor profile.
